·       Your Wildcat boy’s baseball team opened the season with a victory over Holy Names.  In a pitcher's duel, the boys prevailed 2 to 0.  Both Matt LePine and Tyler Jamieson pitched very well, shutting out Holy Names on 4 hits.  Villanova scored their runs on a 2-out, bases loaded double by leadoff hitter Cole Lepine.  Their next game is Thursday at 3:30 in Essex.

·       Despite working hard out on the field last night, the senior boy’s soccer team lost their game against the Massey Mustangs.  The first period saw a lot of movement out on the field but no scoring action. Early in the second period, the Mustangs scored on our end.  Goalie Anthony Pedri worked hard to prevent the ball from passing him again but the Mustangs were to score one more goal with a head ball deflected from a corner kick.  Avery Grondin would eventually earn the Wildcats a goal on a penalty kick near the end of the game but it was a case of too little too late. The final score was 2-1 for the Mustangs. Good effort, boys! The Wildcats play their next game on Tuesday on home field at 4 pm against Kennedy.  Come on out and support the team.

·       Congratulations to all senior badminton participants for a fine showing in yesterday's tournament.  Special recognition goes out to Natalia Glaz who placed 4th overall in the Ladies Singles Division advancing her to SWOSSAA next week.  Junior practice today 2:30 to 3:30.
