·      A reminder to the junior boy’s basketball team that practice will be tonight from 3:30-5:30. Please meet in the atrium.

 

·      Tennis team members are reminded to pay their activity fee this week.

 

·      Today the La Nova Villa Cafe is open and we would like to correct our hours of operation and those are Tuesday to Thursday and not Monday as previously stated, and also today we are offering our Jumbo Pizza Slice, Jumbo Chicken Burgers with Flavor Crisp Fries, Quesadilla’s with Spanish Rice and Salad, Southwestern Corn and Bacon Chowder...and today we are offering low calorie Jumbo Ginseng Iced Tea for $2.

·       Boy’s hockey players:  Please proceed immediately to room 231 if you have not signed your WECSSAA forms.

 

·       Today in the La Nova Villa Cafe we are offering our Jumbo Pizza Slice, Jumbo Chicken Burger with Baked Flavor Crisp Fries and Penne Pasta with Grilled Vegetables in a Blush Sauce and Focaccia Bread.  All meals come with a side Garden Salad.

·       In curling action last night the Villanova Wildcats beat both of Massey's teams. Great team effort was put forth by all players involved. Elyse Brunete and Michael Powney played with true integrity and heart

·      A reminder to all Student Council members that there is a meeting today after school in the LCC

 

·      Just a reminder to all the boys that tried out for the Jr boy’s basketball team to check the list posted on the athletic office door today at lunch. If your name is on the list, practice will be tonight from 4:00-6:00pm. Thank you to all the boys who came out this year. 

 

·      Last night at Beach Grove our Wildcats faced off against 2 teams from Belle River. We managed to win one game and lose another, but the best part of the night was how well our Villy Curlers truly were a team of support and encouragement for one another and for their opposing teams. A proud moment for parents and coaches to witness. Practice tonight teams

 

·      The GSA will meet today on each lunch.  Lunch one people, please go to 202 and Lunch 2 people, please go to 104.   New members always welcome! Don't forget your permission forms for Friday.

·       This is a reminder to all students that your report card response forms are now overdue.  If you have not yet handed it in, please be sure to do so today as there is a drop off box on the counter in the main office.  Today is the last day that we will collect these.

·       Please release curlers at 200 today for their games against Belle River.

  • Congratulations to all swim team members who participated in the 3rd annual Windsor Invitational Swim Meet. The whole team did us proud.
Senior girls; Csengele Zvolenski, Isabelle Jones, Natalie Korac, and Emily Fecteau qualified for SWOSSA in the 200 M Relay.
Taylor Morency, Mya Foresto, Csengele, Luca Chiandussi, Isabelle Jones, Nick Meloche, Matthew Veselinovic, Natalie Korac, Spencer Bedard all placed times for SWOSSA qualifications. Senior Boys 200 M Relay with Matt Veselinovic, Ryan Jones, Luca Chiandussi, and Nick Meloche placed a qualifying time for OFFSA. Ryan Jones an OFSAA level time in the Senior 50 M freestyle.      Excellent work team!

·       There will be a brief DECA meeting after school today in room 209.

·       All tennis team members are to meet at the main entrance Thursday morning after prayer for the yearbook team photo.

  • To all junior boys’ basketball players, tonight's try-out will be at 4:00 pm.

·       Today is Candy day in the School Store.  Come down during your lunch.  Al proceeds go to support the Life Skills Department

·       A big thank you to everyone for their support of the Life Skills Talent Show.  It was a great success.  Everyone had a good time and the parents loved it.

·       A very important thank you to the Life Skills teachers and EA's who supported the kids and each other through the process.

·      This is a reminder to Villanova students that the weight room is open on Monday and Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:45. Proper attire and only water allowed.  Any questions please see Mr. LeClair in room 134.



·      The rocks were sliding, gliding, spinning and stopping with great precision on the ice for the Villanova Curling team last night. I'm sure the Villy Mom's don't have much left for nails as our one game literally came down to the hammer in the last end, resulting in an 8-1 win for us against Belle River.  In our second match against Massey the team truly played with a keen eye and won with a score of 5-3.  Amazing effort yesterday from Nick Unis and Brandon Bernardon.  Practice tonight team!

 

·      Would all tennis team members see Mr.Carosella sometime today for some important information.

 

·      A reminder that tomorrow will be the final collection for the 2016 Coats for Kids campaign. Please bring your winter items to your 4th period class tomorrow. A pizza party goes to the class that collects the most items.

 

·      Today in the La Nova Villa Cafe located in rm 107 we are offering Jumbo Pizza for $3, Jumbo Chicken Burgers with Baked Flavor Crisp Fries, Poutine and Meat Ball Panini with Penne and Blush Sauce. Hope to see you there and arrive early to secure your order.

·      There is a swim meeting in the atrium right now.

 

·      Last Wednesday night, the Junior Boys Football team was eliminated in the WECSSAA AAA Semi Final by Holy Names. Despite the defeat, the boys are to be congratulated on a great season which included a number of individual and team accomplishments. Well done Boys! We will be having a team meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) after school. All outstanding equipment needs to be returned, please have it with you for the meeting tomorrow.

 

·      A reminder that the coats for kids collection will be occurring this week. The first collection is today during 4th period and the second will be on Wednesday during 4th period. Remember that the class that donates the most items (coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, spring jackets) will receive a pizza party.

 

·      Attention boys' hockey players: You must see Mr. O'Keefe before your lunch today regarding your eligibility for the York Tournament.

 

·      The Jr. Boys Volleyball team picture will be taken Tuesday during period 1.

 

·      Curling today after school Villanova will face off against Massey and Belle River. Sweep and slide well team!

·       Students on Period 1 Study Hall, please pick up your midterm report card from the main office after these announcements.


·       The Life Skills Department will be holding its second annual talent show during period 2 on Tuesday, November 22nd.  Singing, dancing, blues and comedy, this show has it all.  Tickets are $2 each on a whole class buyout.  Teachers can contact Mr.Bondy to reserve seats.

 

·       Attention Villanova students. If you want to help needy people in your community and you like pizza, then Mr. Strong's leadership class has a deal for you. We will be collecting winter weather clothing (including coats, gloves, ittens, scarves, hats and spring jackets) for the Coats for Kids Campaign. Just bring in these items to your 4th period class on Thursday Nov. 17th and Monday Nov. 21. The class that collects the most items per student will receive a delicious pizza party. Teachers, please turn on your tv's to channel 12 to view a coats for kids campaign commercial. The commercial will be running all day on channel 12. Just as a side note, there has never been a class that has collected more items than Mr. Strong's leadership class. Just sayin'.  Good luck.

 

·       Game #2 for Villanova Curling is tonight at Roseland against Holy Names and L'Essor at 3:40pm .  Players be ready to play hard and represent Villanova well.

 

·       Jazz band and senior concert band is cancelled this week.

 

·       Any leadership students who helped with the Father Cullen Hockey Tournament can get their hour sheets signed in room 222 before second period or after school in room 219.  

 

·       Hey Villanova..the La Nova Villa Cafe in rm 107 is now open for regular business Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and today we are offering our Jumbo Pizza slice, Jumbo Chicken Burgers with Baked Flavour Crisp Fries and Springmix Garden Salad, and a Cup of Perogies.  Be sure to be the first in line and hope to see you there.

·       The Jr. Boys Volleyball team will be taking their team photo on Thursday during period 1. Please be ready with your uniform.

 

·       Throwing some Fierce rocks is exactly what Villanova did last night in curling action. Our Villanova teams won one game with a score of 7 to 3 and the other team tied with a score of 6 to 6. Brandon Bernardon and Nicholas Unis played great skips to their newly formed teams for the season. practise tonight team as game #2 is Wednesday for all of us

 

·       New York, New York. All grade 11 & 12 drama, dance and English students interested in going to New York with the Arts dept please see Ms. Grado in room 112 today. 

 

·       Teachers please dismiss the swim team at 12:15 pm to attend their swim meet at the aquatics centre.

 

·       Attention Villanova students. This year's Coats for Kids campaign will kick off this Thursday. Please bring in your new or gently used winter clothing items to your 4th period class. Items to be brought in include coats, gloves, hats and scarves. There will be a collection this Thursday as well as Monday Nov. 21st. ·       Okay sports fans curling season is about to begin. Today after school marks the season opener for our very own curling team. Villanova faces off against Kingsville at 330. Sweep well team!! remember clean shoes and dress warm.

 

·       All Sr. girls interested in playing volleyball tryouts begin tonight.  Please meet outside the gym at 3:45 ready to go!

 

·       All girls in grade 9 and 10 that wish to try out for the junior girls volleyball team are to be changed and ready to go in the gym for 4:00 today. See you there ladies!

 

·       All swimmers must submit their forms to Mrs Ibrahim during homeroom in Room 131. Please bring your forms to room 131 at this time.

 

·       Congratulations to Daniella Coombe who placed in the top 10 for her case study presentation at DECA regionals in Waterloo this Saturday.  Great efforts were also put forth by the other DECA memebers who representated Villanova with grace and intelligence.

 

·       Attention all students interested in joining the Model United Nations team; a representative and former graduate of Villi will be here on both lunches to meet with you and explain what VILMUN - Villanova Model United Nations is all about.  We will prepare for a spring mock united nations debate at University of Windsor; and today is an important introductory meeting. If you are planning on being part of the Villanova Model United Nations team, please come to room 131 for an important meeting during first lunch- rm 131 at 12:00 (last 15 minutes of lunch) and during second lunch- rm 131  at 12:15  (first 15 minutes of 2nd lunch) x2(repeat please)

However, the attendance line is working and we are able to make calls out.  While we work to rectify the issues with the main phone system, please call the Catholic Education Centre at 519-253-2481. ·       The Lady Wildcats hockey team rode Claire Beaudoin’s first shut out of the season to best Holy Names 2-0 in Tuesday night play.  Allison Langille continued her scoring streak with the game winner of a feed from Mandy Brunet and Kaycyn Hernandez netted the insurance goal.

 

·       Are you interested in World Issues and thought- provoking debate? Want to make a difference in the world and meet new people? Do you like the United Nations and World affairs? VILMUN is looking for  students who would like to participate in a debate/ mock UN team. VILMUN will hold it's first meeting next Monday, Nov. 14 on both lunches in room 131. If you are interested in politics and world affairs, this is the group for you.

 

·       Sr boys interested in playing basketball tryout begin tonight.  Please meet coach Langlois in the gym today at 2:30.

 

·       Any Jr. or Sr. girls interested in playing volleyball are asked to sign up outside the phys-ed office.  Please listen to announcements for time and dates of tryouts.

·       Congratulations to the Junior Football team on a big 14-0 playoff win over Massey last night. In what was a total team effort, several players stepped up and had outstanding games including: Cody McCrate, Aiden Drago, Will Saurwein, Nick Pavia, Dominic Price, James Hanlon and Matt Burrows. Great job boys!
