·      Today in the La Nova Villa Cafe we are offering our Jumbo Pizza slice with Chicken Burgers and Fries and Pasta with Grilled Chicken in Blush Sauce and Perogies with Bacon.  Hope to see you there.

 

·      Hey Wildcats, accessorize your uniform in Christmas tree decorations for tomorrow’s theme, Christmas tree day. Be prepared to show off your beautiful voices and come and sing Christmas songs, karaoke style on both lunches in the cafeteria. There will also be a bake-sale outside of the cafe on both lunches.

 

·      This Thursday at 2pm the Boys Hockey team will be competing against our cross town rivals the Sandwich Sabres in our annual Mayor's Cup.   Buyout tickets will continue to be available on both lunches for $5.00.  The team is looking forward to seeing everyone there. 

 

·      WE ARE GOING TO THE FINALS VILLANOVA!! Please wish our curling Wildcats a huge congratulations and the best of luck as they won their game last night and are heading to the final game for B league curling. Competition starts 340 Wednesday at Roseland against Belle River. Go villy curl!

 

·      Art club is cancelled this week see you in the New Year.

·      Would all members of this year's cross country team please meet in room 109 immediately.


·      There is no junior band tonight after school or choir tomorrow night after school. Rehearsals will resume in January.

 

·      Hey wildcats, show your Christmas spirit tomorrow by dazzling up your uniform with red and green accessories. Also, there will be cookie decorating on both lunches, outside of the cafeteria. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

 

·      We are going to the semi-finals Villanova!! Both of our amazing Villy Curl teams made the B division semi finals. The match is set for TODAY at 3:40 pm in Roseland curling club. Come on out and cheer our teams on.

·      Hey Wildcats, just a reminder that starting Monday, our Christmas Spirit week will be accessories only on top of the uniform. Monday’s theme will be Santa Hat Day. There will be door decorating during your period 1 classes and the day will also consist of a Candy Cane Hunt.


·      The Junior Girls volleyball team jousted with the Knights of Holy Names last night and came out victorious winning all three games. Congratulations on the win which has the girls perfect so far in the season with 9 sets won and zero lost.

 

·      We are going to the semi-finals Villanova!! Both of our amazing Villy Curl teams made the B division semi finals. The match is set for Monday Dec 19th at 340pm in Roseland curling club. Come on out and cheer our teams on.

 

·      TheGSA meets today both lunches. Lunch 1 go 202 and lunch 2 go to 104.  New members always welcome!

 

·      Yesterday, the boys' hockey team ignited by the physical play of Curtis Cunningham defeated General Amherst 5-1.  Goal scorers were: Chris Francia, DJ Mathew, Bryce McGregor with two, and rookie defenseman Derek Berdusco who scored his first Villanova goal.

 

·      The Wildcat’s dynamic duo of net minders, Kristen Swiatoschik and Erica Fryer squared off again his week in WECSSAA play as the ladies hockey with each registering a shutout of Holy Names 8-0 and L’Essor 3-0.  With most players back in action the offense was fueled by Avery Mertz’s  3 goals, Allison Langille and Kim Primeau with 2 each and singles by Mia Dinardo, Rebecca Misiasz, KayCyn Hernandez and Ally Schembri.  On Monday and Tuesday the ladies look to defend their Southern Ontario Tournament title in play at Forest Glade arena.  Go Wildcats!

·       Students attending the trip to the AGO are reminded to be at the school at 4:45 a. m. this Thursday in order to leave by 5:00.

·       Art Club is this Wednesday instead of Tuesday this week.

·       Today the La Nova Villa Cafe is closed and will reopen tomorrow, but today after school we will be selling pizza for $1 in the foyer and at the student parking lot exit.  Be there first to get you slice.

·       Meeting for all swimmers during homeroom - teachers please dismiss the swimmers today at 11:45 am to catch their bus at 11:50 am

·       The music department will be having their Christmas concert on Wednesday Dec 14th at 7pm. The grade nine music class, junior concert band, jazz band, vocal students, choir and senior concert band will be performing.

·       It is a fun evening of music that will put you in the Christmas Spirit.

·       Reminder to Mr. Beale's period 3 phys-ed class that you are board the bus at 10:55am for your field trip to Roseland Curling Club. 

·       Congratulation to the Sr. girl’s volleyball team who participated in the Chatham Kent tourney this past weekend.  Girls finished the day with 8 -4 record losing only 2 games to out of town teams.  Highlight of the day beating Vista 2 games straight to end the day. Special thanks to Nicole Pignanelli  and Megan Trotter 2 jr. players who spent the day playing as Sr's and proved what wildcat volleyball is all about.  Girls hope to repeat the win tonight in our gym against Vista.  Fans always welcome Sr's play at 4 and jr.'s to follow.  Senior girls are reminded to head to the gym for set up right after school.

·       Hey Wildcats, we are very sorry for the confusion but tomorrow’s theme for spirit week will be Character Day & also what not to Wear. You have the option to choose what theme best suits you. Dress up as your favorite character from any movie, T.V show, and or magazine or mix and match any outfit to create the worst look. During both lunches there will be a “Guess that song” contest in the cafeteria. Don’t miss out!

·      The ladies hockey team playing back to back days short handed rode Kristen Swiatoschik’s stellar play between the pipes for a 0-0 draw against St. Anne’s keeping the Wildcats in first place in Tier I play.  Villy returns to action next week with games against Holy Name’s and L’Essor before hitting the road for the Southern Ontario Christmas tournament.

 

·      Congratulations to all students who represented Villanova very well with their business Youthrive presentations at the University of Windsor last night including students from Bubble Bliss, EcoScenties, and Distinctive. A special congratulation goes to Joey Corio and Christian Stella for coming in 1st place for their company Youth Vision, and to Levi Rock, Sabrina Mantovan, Amanda Armata, and Shawn Muscat for coming in 2nd place for Wicked Wristers and winning the innovation award. Congratulations also to Levi Rock for winning entrepreneur of the year. Great job Villanova!

 

·      Hey Wildcats! Starting Monday, will be the beginning of our Christmas Spirit week. The cost for will be $5 unless you have kept your previous spirit week pass. The theme for Monday will be "What Not to Wear" and it is a full dress down. Show some spirit & grab the ugliest outfits you own and rock them!"

 

·      There is a very important swim meeting in the atrium. All swimmers go to the atrium right now!

·      Attention all #CHANGEMAKERS! Are you ready for a transformational experience? Consider joining us on a trip to Kenya where you will be able to volunteer on a development project that will empower a community and your spirit. Please see Mrs. Gombai in room 208 if you are interested in more information about this trip. Please note there will also be a Parent Information Session on Monday December 12th at 6:00 at the Board Office.

·      Students who have signed up for the blood Donor Clinic tomorrow are reminded to bring photo ID. Also, be sure to eat a good breakfast too.

·      Students attending New York with the Drama, dance and English group are reminded of the first deposit due this Friday. Please see Ms. Grado for more information.

·      Villanova was on a hot streak last night on the curling rink! Both of our teams won their matches with final rocks counting on each Lane. Villanova is placed within the top 5 in standings thus far. Keep it up teams; 2 more games to go!

·      An understaffed Ladies hockey team pulled out a tough 1-0 win over L’Essor.  The defense consisting of Carli Dumeah, Mandy Brunet, KayCyn Hernandez and Michaela Purdie were able to limit the L’Essor offense while Erica Fryer made key saves to register the shut out.  The wildcat’s Brooke Gibson notched her second goal of the season early in the 2nd period and that stood as the game winner.

·      Please release the girls' hockey team today at 1:30 for their game.

·      Today in the La Nova Villa Cafe we are offering our Jumbo pizza slice and starting today we will add bacon to our pepperoni pizza, in addition we have Cuban Grilled Pork Sandwiches and Chicken Burgers with either Fries or Perigees and also Chili Cheese Fries.

·      Students attending New York with the Drama, dance and English group are reminded of the parent meeting tonight at 6:00pm and that the first deposit due this Friday. Please see Ms. Grado for more information.

·      Our dance show "Cities" is upon us! Come watch an evening of dance tonight at 6:30 pm- tickets are $5 with can goods at the door or $8 with no can goods! See you there!!

·      The Junior Girls travelled to Kingsville last night and beat up on the Cavaliers defeating them in all three games with scores of 25 - 4, 25 - 5,      and 25- 21. Congratulations on the big win and what a great way to start the season.

·      Congratulations to the Sr girl’s volleyball team who took a win from the Kingsville Cavilers in their season opener last night. Girls feel short in the first set but turned it around and took the next 2 to win the match.  Great job ladies!  Practice tonight at 2:30

·      Good luck curlers in your games today against General Amherst.

Today in the La Nova Villa Cafe in rm 107 we are offering our Jumbo Pizza Slice and starting today we are going to offer a variety of toppings to our pizzas in addition to our pepperoni and cheese pizzas. We also have Jumbo Chicken Burgers with Flavour Crisp Fries, Gourmet Grilled Cheese with Fried Pickles and Fries.  Hope to see you there.

A reminder to all Student Council members, that there is a meeting after school today in the LCC.

1st Semester dance classes Presents "Cities" dance show tonight and tomorrow evening here in our auditorium starting at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $5 if you bring can goods or $8 with no can goods at the door. All are welcomed!

Curling rocks and sweeping brooms were on the ice for Villanova last night winning both of their games against Massey and Holy Names. Beautiful teamwork Wildcats!

Do you have an interest in social justice? Have you ever considered what you can do to help those less fortunate than yourself? Please join Sacred Heart Youth Ministry in our first Social Justice meeting this Monday, Dec. 5, 2016. The meeting will be held at Sacred Heart Church in the Immaculata Room at 7pm. Bring your enthusiasm, your ideas, and your love for all God’s children! This meeting will be a discussion about the future of our Social Justice group, so please join us and discover if this is a group for you. See you then.

 

·       The Junior Girls volleyball team represented the Wildcats very well on Friday at a tournament at General Amherst. After dominating pool play and winning the pool, the girls entered the semi-finals against a tough team from Ursuline College in Chatham. The ladies played excellent games and defeated the team in three games earning a spot in the Championship game. In the championship the Wildcats played a very strong team from Sandwich and lost in three games. Excellent playing for the entire team on Friday and the ladies should be very proud of their efforts to start the year. They travel to Kingsville tomorrow to take on the Cavaliers. Good luck ladies!

·      Attention all graduates….

Graduation pictures starts on Monday. Please be sure you have checked your brochure which shows important information for your portrait sitting. Your sitting fee must be paid at the time of your appointment. Please be on time for your appointment.

 

·       Just a reminder for Mr. Zajacz's period 3 Careers class to take second lunch today and come to class immediately following period 2. Thank you!

 

·       Students interested in going to New York with the Drama, Dance and English depts., please see Ms. Grado in room 112 today for new details.

 

·       Ms Burke's Period 3 class will take first lunch as normal.

·       Good morning Everyone

The Villanova dance students have been working very diligently towards our annual 1st semester show.  There will be different style such as jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre. As well as our Leadership program with the life skills students performing some of their favorite songs.  Our theme is - Cities.  The grade 12 class picks a theme for the program to work on and they assigned each class a city:  New York, Paris, London, Rio and L.A.  Was investigated in order to express the essence of each city.  Our evening shows are Tues. Dec 6th and Wed. Dec 7th at 6:30 pm in the Villanova Theatre.  The admission is $5.00 with 2 cans to continue our food bank can drive.

 

·       Hello Villy Students:

The Life Skills department is now running its Scholastic Fundraiser for the month of DECEMBER. Catalogues and order forms will be found in the LCC room on the counter.

Take a look at what is being offered for the Christmas season for all your readers. Orders are due by Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 so your items will be in on time for Christmas.  Thank you and all orders are greatly appreciated.

   Attention Graduates:

·       Its Grad photo time! Lifetouch will be here to take grad portraits starting on December 5. Appointment times will be taken quickly so be sure to sign up right away. Your appointments are made ON LINE. You can find a link to the appointment site by looking at the back of your information brochure or on one of the many posters that are hung up in the school. ·       In curling action last night the Wildcats won one game and lost another. Tremendous effort was witnessed by the spectators from Brandon Bernardon and his hard working team practice tonight.

 

·       Yesterday, the boys' hockey team played their season opener against a highly defensive Essex club.  Despite badly outplaying the opposition, and hitting multiple posts, the game remained tied until Jake Rosa broke the deadlock with just under two minutes remaining.  Lucas DiLuca had the shut-out.   The team takes on Belle River today in the season opener for the home opener at 3:00.

 

·       Any students who would like to join the Villanova figure skating team and have not yet seen Ms. Nolan for information are asked to come to room 221 before the end of the day.

 

·       Today in the La Nova Villa Cafe we are offering our Jumbo Pizza Slice, and today we promise to have pizza available for 2nd lunch and we also have Jumbo Chicken Burger and Fries, Chesse Tortellini with Blush Sauce and Garden Salad and Foccacia Bread and last but not least...TACOS with Spanish Rice and Salad.
