·      Would those students who signed up for the U of W cancer symposium please see Mr.Carosella today for some important information.

 

·      Congratulations go out to the entire Junior Girls Volleyball team on defeating the Red Raiders from Essex last night in all three games. The girls have ended the season a perfect 10 and 0 only losing 2 sets and winning 28 sets all year. An amazing season. The girls will enter the playoffs after the exam break and hope to see the fan support as they strive for the Wecssaa championship. Good luck on your exam girls!

·      A reminder for the VILLANOVA UNITED NATIONS TEAM- VILMUN will have a meeting after school tonight (Friday) after

school with Jessica Paglia. Please try to attend immediately after school today in room 131 for the VILMUN meeting.

 

·      The lady Wildcats won back to back competitions against Leamington by a 3-2 score and Holy Names 2-1 in WECSSAA hockey play this week.  Claire Beaudoin picked up the wins in the pipes supported by balanced scoring from five different players; Rebecca Misiasz, Ally Schembri, Avery Mertz, Kim Primeau and Rachell Nepolitano with her first.  The ladies return to the rink today with a game in Lakeshore against St. Anne’s, good lick ladies.

 

·      The ladies hockey team capped off a busy week with their third victory in a row - a 3-1 win over St.Annes to maintain an undefeated record and 1st place in Tier 1.  Claire Beaudoin was outstanding in net, keeping the saints off the board long enough for Allison Langille and Avery Mertz with a pair to supply the needed offense.

·      Attention all Grade 9, 10 and 11 Students, This year’s semi formal will take place on Thursday, February 16th at the Fogolar Furlan Club.  (The following day is a PD day) All grade 9, 10, and 11 Villanova students planning to attend must pick up a Semi Formal Contract from the main office.  This form must be signed and presented in order to purchase a ticket.  If you plan on bringing a guest, they must also have a signed contract and a signed guest pass.  The guest passes are also available in the main office.  Tickets are $45.00 and will go on sale on Thursday, January 19th in the atrium on both lunches.  Please see Mrs. Curran, Mrs. Spada or Ms. Greenwood if you have any questions.

 

·      Please Release the curling team today at 2 o'clock for the game in Tecumseh against Belle River

 

·      Congratulations to the Junior Girls Volleyball team in defeating the previously undeafeated Sandwich Sabres last night winning all three games. Consistent passing and good serving helped the team maintain their undefeated season. Next is the Rebels from Riverside tomorrow in our gym. Come out and cheer us on.

Tonight in our gym an instant ESPN Classic is about to be made and you can be a part of it as you cheer on the undefeated Junior Girls Wildcat Volleyball team as they take on their cross town rivals the undefeated Sandwich Sabres. You do not want to miss this one. See you tonight at 4:00 in our gym.


·      Today is candy day in the school store. All proceeds go to support the Life Skills program. Get your candy today!

 

·      Talk about an amazing comeback in curling action last night. The Wildcats were down 6 points at the end 6th end but came back hard with determination to take 6 points by the end of the 7th end and take another 4 points by the end of the 8th end. Our boys never gave up and fought hard to earn every placed rock. Congrats team! You had all spectators on the edge of their seats

·      There is a swim meeting in the atrium during homeroom. All members of the swim team please meet right now in the atrium.

 

·      The senior boy’s basketball team won a close game last night at Tecumseh Vista edging them out by 3 points to move to a 4-0 record. Jordan Gaudette and Ben Diab led the wildcats with 14 points a piece. The senior boys will be playing in a tournament this Friday and Saturday at Massey so wish them luck!

 

·      On Feb. 8 the OUA and the National Basketball League of Canada will team up to offer back-to-back basketball games at Caesars Windsor's Colosseum.  Spectators can watch two Lancer games, followed by a Windsor Express game and they are offering a reduced ticket price for high school students (there will be a separate entrance for this event so that minors don't have to go through the gaming floor).           Interested students should contact Elisa Mitton 519-253-3000 ext.2447 or Mona Sleiman 519-253-3000 ext. 2441 for tickets.

·      There will be a Europe meeting this Monday at 8:00 in the art room.

 

·      Yesterday the boys' hockey team defeated Brennan 8-0.  Bryce McGregor and Cole Welsh led the team with two goals each and Joel Badour earned the shutout.
